I talked about how you need to feel less stress in order to make more money. You need to increase your peace to make more money. And in order to feel less stress, you need to stop thinking you need to do everything in your business.
In this episode, I am going to break down why Coaches and Agency Owners are keeping themselves in a stress cycle rather than an income generating one.
Because I know you like the back of my hand. Let me tell you a little about yourself real quick LOL.
And so what’s interesting, though, that I find with my clients is that a lot of them, most of them actually are working part time, but they’re still working a lot and doing more than they need. So they could be working significantly less.
So for example, they may be working 30 hours a week, but they could easily be working five. And that’s it right. And really, you’re doing everything in your business, even with a team, even with the team, like your business still very much relies on you.

And something I want to say about my clients is, they’re not easily impressed by a million dollar business or like the promise of a million dollar business. I talk a lot about making a million dollars, but they’re not easily impressed by that if it’s not done well. And that’s why so many of my clients are attracted to working with me specifically, because I’ve run a million dollar business well with premium experience and premium results on a part time schedule peacefully.
That is why people work with me.
And so what is necessary to achieve all of this is team, systems and mindset.
Here’s my own case study. I wanted to have an agency and be CEO optional while I worked my nine to five. So when I started my business, I knew right away, this was not going to be a solopreneur venture or a freelance venture, I was ready to scale into an agency and I wanted to be CEO optional. While I worked my nine to five. I had a team and was able to delegate but not completely right. And I ended up being totally burnt out after making all the team mistakes.
I wanted to hit my goals, but I was stressed about time, right?
I didn’t want to work all night after working all day in health care. I wanted to enroll clients and delegate it to my team. Then I had a team but I was still stressed whether it was because I was still having to be the point of contact for my clients or because I wanted to be able to focus more on my own launching and the new offers I wanted to do and I still had to jump in on client work.
Even when I had a team, I still had stress. And so I wasn’t CEO optional. And ended up going from working 90 hours a week in my agency, I’ll never forget, when I looked at my clockify, and I saw, I worked 90 hours that week, on top of my full time job on top of my personal responsibilities, and I was dead. And I just thought never again, it’s never gonna happen again.
And I went from 90 hours a week to five a month. And that was because I became completely CEO Optional in my operations and client delivery as an agency owner.
And I ended up having the time and money at that point, meaning I had finally gotten my agency on lock and all delegated, I was able to enroll clients without having to spend more time.
And I had that time and money now to lean into my desire for a new business model, which was coaching. And, you know, I made so many mistakes with my agency that I ended up creating my own philosophies and approach to team and leadership and systems.
Because I didn’t have a coach that knew my business model at all, I ended up coaching my coaches on team and systems, which was funny, because I was literally learning as I went. And I ended up doubling my business because I took these lessons with me into my coaching business, I ended up doubling my business with less hours, less stress, and more peace than ever before, which was really, really cool.
The reason why I wanted a team was for less time, client and launch stress.
I highly, highly valued my time with my husband, my family and my friends, we are both very active in our community.
And the whole reason we started a business was to have a flexible schedule, and to run a business from home and not be stuck to our computer.
I wanted to be the best in the industry. I wanted a luxury client experience. I wanted to take on more clients but still work part time. I wanted to do other offers, but have consistent revenue without me delivering. I wanted to stop being on so many call or all up in slack. I wanted to focus on marketing and curriculum and selling my offers. I wanted to stop doing everything and do what I want.
I wanted to stop doing everything and actually do what I wanted. I also wanted more money and to pay myself more. And I knew to do this that I needed to make more sales, right?
And a lot of people think that when you invest in a team, that you’re losing profit, but you will increase your profit when you know how to leverage your team to make more money.
And that’s what I’m going to teach you inside the mastermind is leveraging your team and systems to make more money so that you don’t lose your profit and to have more peace. Your team expenses are a drop in the bucket in my mastermind.
And so most of you have a VA already. A lot of you have Specialist Contractors, like a designer or a podcast editor. Or if you’re an agency owner, you might have a niche delivery person that does a specific part of your delivery, whether it’s copy or design or whatever.
But here’s why you’re staying stressed:
And when I say not scaling I mean that you are losing cash in the bank as you grow. That’s what I mean by not scaling, right. And so I always saw myself as a CEO. I always saw my team as a team even before I hit six figures.
You have a team, but you don’t consider them a team. You have a podcast editor or a virtual assistant, but they aren’t really a team, because they just do a few hours a month or they just helped me with my emails or whatever it is right? You’re not seeing your team as a team.
This is the first step to relieving your stress. See your Team as a Team. See yourself as a CEO that doesn’t need to do everything. And see the potential you have to leverage your Team to make more money because if you viewed it that way, I bet you’d be delegating differently.
I always saw my team as a team, my business grew from this mindset. My first year was over 300k, as an agency owner, my second year was 400k. And as a hybrid as an agency owner and coach, and this year with just coaching is over 600k. And with a lean team and still working part time, in fact, I’m working less than ever, for example when I first started to become CEO optional, even as a coach, it was like the classic part time like 25-30 hours a week. Now it’s much less than even that.
And Team systems and mindset work just completely changed my business.
And this is why I coach on this trifecta in my mastermind, because all three matter and you won’t find a mastermind that touches on both your life and business in the way that we do. Because what’s interesting is what I noticed was I had all the team and systems and mindset at some point in my business, it was fine, but then I would walk away from my business. And I would have no team, no systems, no mindset in my life.
And once I was able to achieve both, it changed the game for me. And this is the year that I did all that. And I’ve, I’ve hit my biggest year yet. And that’s why I’m at a minimum 600k a year, which is incredible. And so you won’t find a mastermind that touches on both, you need a team to take things off your plate, right, tactically, you need systems to obviously enroll new clients and still have a premium experience to launch better and easier to create consistent content. And you need mindset to have more peace and make more money, they all work together.
For one thing, they don’t even know what they are SUPPOSED to be doing as a CEO.
As a CEO, your only job is revenue and results. You need to be CEO Optional in your Operations and Client Delivery so you can focus on driving Revenue and Results.
Your job as the CEO is so much easier when you have a Team and Systems behind both your Revenue and Results.
In practice, this might look like:
Strategizing launches and content for revenue, having a system for creating and repurposing, and having your Team apply it.
Putting systems for data collection in your offers, paying attention to trends, and planning for improvements.
A great example of this is in my business, I am having my Team repurpose and curate content for my next Launch while I focus on creating revenue in this one. And as my next launch is going, I will be planning new trainings to add into my current programs.
I have a steady process for both Revenue and Results. That’s my job as the CEO.
And my job as a CEO can be Part Time and Peaceful, because I have a Team.
And that’s why what keeps people from leveraging it effectively.
You’re technically working part time. So you don’t see the issue. You’re like, Kirsten, I am working part time, it’s not a big deal. I don’t want to pay more when I’m already working part time. Who cares, right?
You think your clients wouldn’t buy or stay unless it’s you doing the delivery. So you’re worried about making any changes, because what if that eats into your profit? What if you lose a client? What if this happens, what if that happens, right, and you think it’s going to take a lot and cost a lot. That’s basically the gist of it, you think having a team and systems is going to take a lot and cost a lot.
This keeps you stressed and doing everything.
You’re running your business every day more than anyone else. And really what you’re doing is keeping yourself in the least creative, least money making role in your business.
What you don’t realize is that having a team actually helps you decrease your stress and increase your own personal cash. So for example, having a team for me has helped me enroll over 100 clients this year, and I’m projected to make at least $600,000. That is sales, right?
But in terms of cash, I’m having my highest cash in account year, right. And so my cash has actually increased with a team and systems because of my philosophy and approach to it. I would not have been able to enroll 100 clients without a team, I would not have been able to do that peacefully.
And I don’t spend all my time managing and training them either. I have a simple team. They’re all geniuses, they’re masters of their craft. Nobody is underpaid on my team, no body is underpaid on my team. Nobody. But I don’t break the bank at all. Because of all the sales I’m able to make with their assistance. And with their help. I’m able to be completely CEO optional because of my team.
The more value you create, the more money and impact you make.
And value creation requires a Team and Systems.
At the beginning of this year, I knew I wanted to scale to $500K+ but I had some requirements.
It had to be on a Part Time Schedule.
It had to be Peaceful.
It had to be Valuable to my Clients.
Money wasn’t worth it if it compromised these things.
It wasn’t worth it if I burned it all down at the end from stress.
It wasn’t worth it if my clients couldn’t see me scale healthy.
I would not be able to create the amount of value I have this year for both current and future clients if I didn’t work on TSM (team, systems, mindset).
And this is just scratching the surface.
